THIS IS MY STORY

In 2017 I gave birth to my first born, a beautiful healthy baby boy and just like that I became a mother.  However, over the next 6 months I began to lose my son.  His abilities, his personality, his giggles and although repetitively I was told he was "ok" by the pediatrician's office, I persisted.

Almost 6 months later, in July 2018 my sweet infant son was diagnosed with the incurable brain condition, Hydrocephalus.  We went from the joy of planning his first birthday party to planning brain surgery and beginning a battle of a lifetime.

I am disheartened to say that there is an immense gap between the healthcare system and patients.  I want to bridge that gap for anyone out there navigating the healthcare system.  No one will ever know you or your loved one as well as you do and never doubt that.

What I discuss is not found in any parenting book or doctor's office.  Throughout my son's diagnosis I craved a resource to navigating motherhood as a medical parent.  I hope to be that resource for you.

In life you have two options to lay down and let life steam roll you or stand up and fight with all you have.  I choose the latter.

In my podcast I will educate, support and empower you to rise up and advocate.
